Following a limited but successful production run the PLS L56 this model will now be replaced with the PLS 270. This new light uses the latest Philips CoB technology combined with the latest generation of super efficient switch mode power supplies. The total power consumed is around 270 watts and our light design concept will move from passive to active cooling with the addition of 2 high flow fans that we have been testing for the last 6 months. The first lights will be available late July 2015 and we have already taken pre-orders from Amsterdam and Italy.
This new LED mix builds on 6 years of development and testing to provide intensity combined with superior light quality. Simple and easy to setup – plug it in – turn it on – and grow!
We are also developing a light based on the new Cree CXB 3590 – we will be driving these LED CoBs at around 2.4 amps with a total power of around 80 watts. This new light will enter first phase testing shortly using Meanwell power supplies.
Lets ‘Grow Together’ – more details to follow!
Development of the PLS 270 Grow Light
The PLS 270 builds on the successful unit design of the PLS 56. After initial testing with the new Philips CoBs it was decided to move from a passive to active cooling method as we had nearly doubled the power consumption using the high intensity Philips chips. Our high-flow active cooling fans keep the aluminum body cool – this equates to higher efficiency and operating lifetime for the LEDs.
